As silly as it sounds, I can not imagine my life living without cheer and dance. It is what I am made of as a person and it is what makes up my life. Life as a cheerleader makes everything seem just a little bit better.

It all started when I was three years old. I entered my first dance class at the age of three and since then, preforming was something I could not let go. I did all types of dancing from hip-hop, jazz, ballet, baile folklórico, and everything in between. At the age of 10 is when I became a cheerleader for a Pop Warner team in Okinawa, Japan. Since those early days, I have cheered every year back to back until I was a senior in High School.

I thought it would be nice to change up my routine of year-round cheer, so I went back into dancing and coached cheer on the side. As much as I tried to give cheerleading a break for a season, I ended up right back in it. So in total, I have been dancing since I was three, I have been a cheerleader for 9 years and coached for two years. So now, my goal is to try out for the ASU cheerleading team in April and become a college cheerleader. It is one of my ultimate goals to cheer in college and a life long dream to cheer for an NFL team. I find it interesting how most little girls want to become a princess when they grow up. When I always dreamed of being on TV as a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader.

I love cheering because it combines cheer, dance, and stunting which are my favorite things to do. Shouting for school spirit and motivating a crowd at a game is a feeling that is irreplaceable. Cheerleading makes me happy in almost every way and even when I am super old, once a cheerleader, always a cheerleader.

  1. I'm glad you found something you like. My 6 year old niece is into cheering now and it's cute to watch all those little kids fumble around and bump into each other.
